GAD-LA-001 Laser Procedure

Laser Procedure

1.    Get work order and Q.C. Docs.

2.     Enter the program number found in the work order into the machine.

3.     Locate the material to be cut by the tag numbers listed in the work order.

4.     Verify the length, width, gauge, material type, and surface quality are correct and load the table. *When running HR Black material on a CO2 laser, spray liquid anti-splatter on top of each sheet before cutting.

5.     Start running the laser.

6.     After the first piece of each part has been cut, pause the laser program and perform the required inspections listed on the Jemison print and per the first piece inspection procedure (GAD-FAB-001). If no Jemison print has been provided, contact quality or a supervisor before continuing production.

7a.     If non-conforming material is found, notify quality or lead for disposition. Rejected material will be physically segregated on the production floor and virtually segregated in the operating system. If the part passes inspection, begin production.

8.     Package parts according to the specs listed in the work order. Stack evenly and write the count on each stack to match the tag count.

9.     Complete the job in Stelplan, print the tag(s), and apply the tag(s) to the corresponding parts.        *GAD employees will also attach the part print to the lifts.

10.     Move finished and identified parts to finished goods or WIP area. This is not the operators function. Finished Goods Coordinator will remove material and place into stock.

  11.     Go to next job
