LYN-LA-001 Laser Procedure

Laser Procedure

1.  Get work order from Production Planner

2.     Enter the program number found in the work order into the machine and enable the program.

3.     Locate the material to be cut by the tag numbers listed on the work order.

4.     Verify the length, width, gauge, material type, and surface quality are correct and load the table.

5.     Start running the laser.

6.     After the first piece has been cut, pause the laser program and perform the required inspections listed on the Jemison print and per the first piece inspection procedure (LYN-FAB-001). If no Jemison print has been provided, contact Quality or a supervisor before continuing production.

7.     If more than one part is being produced from the same sheet, repeat step 6 until all applicable parts have been through first article inspection.

8.     If non-conforming material is found, notify quality for disposition. Rejected material will be physically segregated on the production floor and virtually segregated in the operating system. If the part passes inspection, begin production.

9.     Perform periodic dimensional and laser cut quality checks per the frequency listed on the work order. If no frequency is listed on the work order, perform a check every 20th piece. Make adjustments as warranted by inspection, segregating any nonconforming material for disposition.

10.     Package parts according to the specs listed in the work order.

  11.     Complete the job in Stelplan, print the finished goods tag or WIP tag, and apply the tag to the corresponding parts.

  12.     Move finished and identified parts to finished goods or WIP area.

  13.     Go to next job
