The Company Vision

We will distinguish ourselves through lean and cost effective operations, exceptional asset management, and unparalleled customer responsiveness.

Top management determines relevant external and internal issues to its purpose and strategic direction and that affect its ability to achieve the intended results  of its QMS.  These issues can be legal, technological, competitive, market related, climate, cultural, social & economic. Jemison monitors and reviews information about these factors. Although these factors can and do change over time, some of the most common issues include:

External Issues
Market Pricing & Volatility, Import Levels, Demand (i.e. MSCI Shipments), Mill Capacity Utilization, Competition, Regulations, Environmental Reporting Requirements, Potential Climate Change etc.
Internal Issues
Safety, Staffing & Human Resources, Freight Rates & Truck Availability, Working Environment, Training & Education.
 

Understanding the Needs and Expectations of Interested Parties

Top management has determined the interested parties that are relevant to the quality management system. The requirements of these interested parties has also been determined and top management periodically monitors and reviews information about them.  Jemison Metals' plan is to be good stewards of the trust placed upon the company by Society, Regulatory Agencies, Our Shareholders, Our Employees, Our Customers, and Our Suppliers and Our Creditors.  The interested parties log (JDM-F-100), which is located here, is reviewed during Management Review for accuracy and completeness.

Determining the Scope of the Quality Management System

Jemison Metals has determined the boundaries and applicability of the Quality Management System. The Scope of the QMS was determined by considering external and internal issues, requirements of interested parties and products and services.

All requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard apply with the following exclusion(s) and justification(s):

Section 8.3: Design and Development of Products and Services, is excluded from Jemison Metals' QMS as product is manufactured or reworked to customer specific requirements.

Quality Management System and its Processes

 

Quality Management System      

This corporate manual defines organization and implementation of the Quality Management System at Jemison Metals.

It is intended to provide our customers with objective evidence of our ability to meet their high standards for performance and quality in the products and services they acquire from us.

The contents of this manual provide an in-depth overview of Jemison’s QMS and are intended to be current. Enhancements will occur requiring periodic update. Review of the manual will be made at least annually.

It is Jemison’s policy to maintain an innovative QMS, which will assure that all products conform to contractual requirements. The material compiled within this manual outlines the standard that will be used in the fulfillment of our contracts with our customers.

Changes or temporary deviations to the quality policies and control systems are not permitted without approval. The procedures described within this manual are intended to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001.

Jemison Metals maintains documented information to support the operations of its processes. JM retains such documented information to have confidence that the processes are being carried out as planned.  Section 7.5, Documented Information, in this quality manual details this process.
