QMP 10.2 Nonconformity & Corrective Action

1.0            Purpose & Scope

         To establish a method for obtaining corrective action when serious or repetitive deficiencies exist regarding products and internal processes / rejections, subcontracted services and/or customer complaints/rejections.

4.0            Application

4.1     When nonconformity occurs, the following steps will take place (as applicable):

a.    React to the nonconformity and, as applicable;

1.    Take Action to control, mitigate, and correct it;

2.    Deal with the consequences;

b.    Evaluate the need for action to eliminate the cause(s) of the nonconformity, in order that it does not recur or occur elsewhere by:

1.    reviewing and analyzing the nonconformity;

2.    determining the causes of the nonconfirmty;

3.    determining if similar nonconformities exist, or could potentially occur;

c.    Implement any action needed including the creation or updating of PFMEAs, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Forms etc (as required);

d.    Review the effectiveness of any corrective action taken;

e.    Update risks and opportunities determined during planning, if necessary;

f.    Make changes to the QMS, if necessary. This is addressed in the corrective action system, if applicable, to include applying changes to any other pertinent parts.
