                                                                                     Residual Stress Check Procedure 

 

1. Minimum Checking Frequency; first piece(s) of run will be sheared prior to going into line run, last piece of first skid, halfway point in job to be checked and last piece of run

a) If any in run checks prove to be nonconforming skids ran prior to checked skid will also be checked, all nonconforming material will be segregated into reject warehouse

2. Determine number of pieces to shear to; either customers FG part or by width of master strip

a) If determined by customer FG part; shear to size associated with customer's actual FG part

b) If determined by master width; Strip should be cut into as many pieces as the amount of backup rolls that affect the shape of the strip.

3. Cut a manageable length of full width strip or in the case of multi blanking one entire pass of strips encompassing the entire width of the master.

4. Number in ascending order across width of material starting at operator side of strip to drive side.

5.  Shear strip(s) by length then reassemble strips on inspection table and check flatness.

6.  Make adjustments to leveler as needed.
