Press Brake Procedure
1. Get work order and Q.C. documents.
2. Set up machine with appropriate tooling for the parts listed in the work order by pulling the corresponding part program.
3. Locate the material to be formed by using the WIP tag(s) on the work order.
4. Form first piece and verify the dimensions listed on the Jemison Print and per the first piece inspection procedure (GAD-FAB-001). Dimensions are recorded on the space provided on the Jemison print.
5. First piece inspection must be verified by the supervisor before production can resume.
6. Quality must do a 3rd verification as a final before production can resume (This is a temporary check)
7. If part does not meet specification, make necessary adjustments and apply failed setup parts to scrap. If part does meet specification, begin production.
8. Perform and document periodic dimensional checks per JDM-F-060.
9. If non-conforming material is found during normal production in a periodic check, stop production and notify quality or lead for disposition. Rejected material will be physically segregated on the production floor and virtually segregated in the operating system.
10. Package parts according to specs in the W/O.
11. Complete the job in Stelplan, print the tag(s), and apply the tag(s) to the corresponding parts. *Gadsden Employees will also attach the part print to the tags.
12. Move the parts to finished goods area.
13. Go to the next job.
