Press Brake Procedure
1. Get work order from Production Planner.
2. Set up machine with appropriate tooling for the parts listed in the work order by pulling the corresponding part program.
3. Locate the material to be formed by using the WIP tag(s) on the work order.
4. Verify the length, width, and gauge of the blanks against the blank size listed on the W/O.
5. Form your first piece and verify the dimensions listed on the Jemison Print and per the first piece inspection procedure (SM2-FAB-001). Dimensions are recorded on the space provided on the Jemison print.
6. If part does not meet specification, make necessary adjustments and notify quality or supervisor for disposition. If part does meet specification, begin production.
7. Perform periodic dimensional checks per the frequency provided in the work order. If no frequency exists in the work order, verify 1st, 5th, 10th, 20th & every 20th piece from then on per JDM-F-060 and recording the results on this form.
8. If non-conforming material is found during normal production in a periodic check, stop production and notify quality for disposition. Rejected material will be physically segregated on the production floor and virtually segregated in the operating system.
9. Package parts according to specs in the W/O.
10. Complete the job in Stelplan, print the finished goods tag, and apply the tag to the corresponding parts. The back of each tag must be initialed by the operator.
11. Move the parts to finished goods area.
12. Go to the next job.
